Terms of service

The agreement between you and ChatBrace: what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and what happens when either of us wants to stop.

The service

ChatBrace hosts a chat widget that answers questions from knowledge text you supply. We give no warranty that answers will be correct — the model generates them from your material, and material that is wrong or out of date produces answers that are wrong or out of date.

You are responsible for what your chatbot says to your customers. Review its answers, particularly on anything with legal, financial, medical or safety consequences.

AI disclosure is not optional

Every design states that it is an AI assistant at the start of a conversation, and this cannot be turned off. Under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, in force since 2 August 2026, people must be informed that they are interacting with an AI system. Attempting to remove or obscure that disclosure is a breach of these terms.

Acceptable use

You may not use ChatBrace to:

  • Break the law, or help anyone else do so.
  • Impersonate a person or organisation, or present the assistant as human.
  • Give medical, legal or financial advice without the qualifications and disclosures your jurisdiction requires.
  • Upload personal data you have no lawful basis to process.
  • Resell raw model access, or use the service as a general-purpose LLM proxy.
  • Attempt to extract our system prompts, or probe another customer's chatbot.

Plans, billing and overage

Paid plans renew automatically. We attempt payment a few days before your period ends and retry daily until it does; if it has not succeeded by the end of the period the account moves to past due.

Go over your message quota on a paid plan and we bill $4 per additional 1,000 messages. We email you at 80% and again at 100% first. We do not cut off paid accounts mid-period — a chatbot going silent during your busiest week is worse for you than an overage line on an invoice.

The free trial stops at 100 messages. There is no card on file, so there is nothing to bill.

Design source licence

Every chatbox design can be used on any plan, including the free trial. Six designs ship their standalone source under the MIT licence and you may do anything MIT permits with them. The remaining designs' source is available on paid plans under the same MIT terms once supplied.

Ending it

Cancel whenever you like and the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. We can suspend an account for a breach of acceptable use, and we will tell you why. Export your conversations before you go — we delete them when the account closes.
